Oh it's been cleansed alright, it's had all the logic, sanity and normalcy cleaned right out of it.

The Watchtower Taught Jesus Inspected His Domestics In 1917-1919, They Claim He Cleaned His Organization, Right?
by Bubblegum Apotheosis inwe were taught in early wts publications our lord jesus christ inspected all religions throughout the earth.
all religions failed to meet our master's expectations, except this little group in atlanta's federal prison.
if jesus took a hand's on approach with these members, why has he not kept the modern day jehovah's witness organization clean?

Pyramids and Dates
by JWdaughter indear watchtower bible and tract society:.
many years ago the wt had written a lot about how many feet there were between certain parts of the pyramid as related to some dates given by the wt organization.
i don't know that any real bible student of that time had the opportunity to actually measure any part of the great pyramid-as it is in egypt.

Awake 8/2012: YPA - Who Are My Role Models (with snark)
by corpusdei inwheeeee!!!!!!
another ypa article trying mould young children into nice little myrmidons, and once again, the only way i can stand to read it is by inserting as much low-brow commentary as i can.
read hebrews chapter 11 and pick one of the men or women named there.

Oh thank you, I needed that after yesterday’s pukefest of a wash-towel study.
These things are getting so blatantly fake it's funny; not a funny haha but an awe isn't it sad they don't know they're full of bullshit kinda funny.

shucks, where's Blondie this week?
by stillin ini don't see her review of today's study article.
the "experience" of the person who was shunned by his family until he got himself reinstated really bothered me.
no mention of repentance, no mention of his wanting to restore worship of jehovah back into his life.

I posted this on blondie's thread too:
I talked to my Mom about the disfellowshipping point afterwards. I told her that something like this would always leave me in doubt, that the family is the ONLY reason the person in question came back (which we know it is and unbeknownst to her, I'm not DF, but my family is the ONLY reason I'm still in and faking activity, so I get it).
She said, "Well I don't know, everyone has different circumstances, but I knda thought the same thing at first, but then I thought they must've had that in there for a reason."
I thought to myself REALLY?!?! You see the problem and gloss over it; if something is wrong, truly W-R-O-N-G, then gloss should never be applied no matter how you spin it. Holy shit!
I took a cleansing breath and replied, "They had better be careful with this shunning thing though, because there is such a thing as normal family business that HAS to be attended to and it really isn't fair to the one being shunned to force them back in just to be able to speak with his own flesh and blood, that’s just cruel. Besides shunning may have an opposite effect and force the person away like, "if this is how they are I don't want any part of it" so even if they still believe they won't come back."
She then said, "I don't know if I'd go as far as calling it shunning, but you're right to some extent, just try to think about it this way, they put this in the article for a reason and we need to focus on that, maybe there is a problem with one's not cutting off ties with DF family members."
Again I held my real thoughts back, which were, so I shouldn’t focus on the fact that some poor soul was blackmailed and forced back into this religion just to be able to speak with his family, and if this isn't what you would call shunning, then what would you call it? Are you joking? What the hell is wrong with you?
Instead I just said, "ok" and left it at that because we all know she's right about one thing, they are having trouble with association with the faded, DA and DF because people know it's wrong and completely nuts.
I'm astounded that, after all these years, this cult still has my Mom swindled; I mean they really have her by the spiritual balls.

@ Steve: I only go to these zombifying snooze fests because I'm still “keeping up appearances” to remain in good standing with my family; I hate it but, until I'm brave enough to walk away, I gotta go.
Gawd I hate con-ventions and ass-em-bleeds; I can barely tolerate an hour of this shit let alone a day or more.
This year I'm going stag; I'll be staying with my sister and since she lives in the convention city and her convention (the one my Mom will also be attending) is the weekend before I'm going to get ready, leave her house on time and then just go do something else all day. I only plan on showing up for the baptism (to see if anyone I know is getting flea dipped, because I'll be asked) and just in time to pick up the new releases so the fam is thrown off the scent of me not actually attending.

this topic has been discussed before ... i just wanted to put my two cents in.. i will start off by saying that of course mental illness exists outside of the organization.

I just want to ad this:
I know a girl who has chemical sensitivities and asthma, but these only ever seem to bother her at the hall, assemblies, conventions or out in service; last year at the convention she had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital because she had a massive asthma attack, so this got me thinkin’.
Now I know chemical sensitive are real, I have some and in fact we all do to some extent, and my sister has always had bad asthma, so I understand both conditions. I don't know about anyone else, but my sensitive are present all the time, if I come in contact with something that triggers me I can get head to toe hives/welts and/or be sick for days, and when my sister has a major asthma attack she starts to turn white then blue because she can't breath. But not this girl, I've been around her enough to know when her "diseases" flare up and funny thing she NEVER has trouble any other time; hmm?
I would love to pull her aside and go, "Sweetheart, you may have sensitivities and asthma, but what you've been havin' is panic attacks". Then ask her "Considering when and where you have these attacks, why do you think that is?" and leave it at that.

AHA HA HA, in the back ground towards the end, but definitely before the talk is over, listen closely you can hear people rustling around getting their shit together.
So much for what the guy was saying, they just wanna be ready to get the hell outta there.

I agree with Para; they usually do a small, very small, bit of this either during or right before the CO visit; this way they can say that they are keeping up with the flock and get the slave driving CO off their backs.
